About Us

Unique to Clay Art Studio are our funky mosaic feature pieces which are hand made and hand painted in our workshops. These pieces were originally designed to feature in indoor and outdoor mosaics and are frost resistant and very durable.

About us 2 They are now being used almost everywhere around the home, indoors and outdoors to add colour and character to bathrooms, kitchens, patio walls, concrete paths and anything else that doesn't move! They are also available as wall hangings, fridge magnets and even clocks.

Lynn & Steve - We have a long background in leadlighting having been designing, making, installing and repairing leadlights commercially for over 12 years. We have more recently caught the mosaic bug and are now making up for lost time! Leadlighting and mosaics go very well together and we now stock a huge range of supplies for both crafts

Welcome Page

about us 3 Clay Art Studio can easily be found in The Historic Village on 17th Avenue West, only 5 minutes from central Tauranga. The Historic Village is a 2.8 Hectare site of Tauranga historic buildings relocated into a village setting.

About us 4 Many of these buildings are the studios of artists and artisans where work can be bought or commissioned and shops with handcraft supplies and giftware. There is also a mid-week cafe and catering facilities, numerous halls for hire, a theatre and even a church.

The shop is chaotic and colourful, with a huge range of products to draw the eye. Inside the shop 1

How Clay Art Started - Clay Art feature pieces originated with Judi Brennan in Acacia Bay, Taupo around 1997.Since then the range has been expanded and refined and is testament to Judi's unique artistic style.

Now that Clay Art Studio has left its original home and moved to Tauranga it is undergoing some more changes, whilst Judi and daughter Jo have turned the original studio and mosaic garden into a mosaic and sculpture café called L'Arté. Check out our newsletter as Judi will be keeping us up to date with happenings in Taupo.
