 | Welcome To Clay Art Studio This website, and our shop in Tauranga, New Zealand, is where mosaics, mosaic tiles, leadlights, Darjit garden sculpture and ceramics come together. We have a huge range of mosaic and leadlight supplies and classes, and we hand make a wide selection of funky ceramics which are flat backed and fantastic to feature in mosaics, but are also great features for around the home or workplace. They are strong and weather proof and can be supplied with hangers or fridge magnets, or you can just glue them to any convenient surface to add colour and character.
We can custom make to your design or logo, and make a wide assortment of name plates and tiles as well as the range shown here, and we welcome trade enquiries.

When you are ready, go to the checkout, fill in your address details, any additional comments and your credit card details. | | | Now here......"Paint a Critter" We are now holding Ceramic Painting sessions in our new, big and airy classroom.

In these, you will be able to choose a "Critter" (e.g. a fish or lizard) a novelty item (e.g. a pair of jandals, or a heart jewellery box) or a piece of crockery (e.g. a plate, cup or platter) to paint in your own style and colours, which we will then glaze and fire to a tough, high gloss finish suitable for dishwasher or outdoor use.
The only cost is for the items you choose to paint (from $5 to $35), which includes the use of all materials and the glaze finishing. There are no other charges.
Everything is supplied, just bring a smile…
During school holidays, the studio will be open for painting most days from 10 to 12am. Group bookings of 5 or more are welcome at any other times by arrangement and kitsets will be available for school groups to take away and do on their own premises.
Outside of school holidays, the studio will be open from 10 to 12am on Thursdays and Saturdays and all other times by arrangement.

|  | ....and "Mosaic a Critter" Also during school holidays we will have "Mosaic a Critter" sessions. Children can select from a range of critter bases and mosaic them using a wide selection of pre broken tiles and pebbles. We will grout and finish the pieces ready to collect the following week. Cost $35 per child.
Outside of school holidays, we are happy to run sessions for groups of 5 or more at any time to suit you...

| | | Classes and Workshops These are run regularly in our studio in The Historic Village. Evening classes on Wednesday nights for those who live nearby, and weekend workshops for those who live further afield. Our workshops are fun and informative, and we can arrange one especially to suit your group, either at your place or at ours...Check our workshop calendar for weekend course dates.

| Freight Charges We are working on getting the on-line shopping system to calculate our freight charges accurately at the time of order. In the meantime, it will show a standard charge of $6.75 (inc GST) for most orders and destinations. This is correct for the majority of orders we despatch, but large and/or heavy parcels will be charged as follows: South Island $16.00 per 10kg and North Island North of Auckland or South of Taupo $9 per 10kg. Rural Delivery addresses may incur an additional $3.80 per order though, where possible, we will use NZ Post to avoid this.
We try to keep freight and packaging charges as low as possible but, if you are unsure, please email or ring us for a quote. |
| Overseas Freight Charges Please note that we are unable to automatically calculate freight and packaging charges for overseas orders at the time of order. However, if you place your order in the normal way, we will email you straight back with a quote.. We will not despatch, or charge for any goods, until you have confirmed your acceptance of the quote. Or if you prefer, send us an email listing what you would like and we will be happy to quote for supply and freight. |
